This year marks the event’s 15th anniversary, and you can be sure there will be plenty to see and do as a result.

Taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami Fashion Week places an equal emphasis on American, Latin and international fashion. Designers from across the globe make a point of stopping at Miami Fashion Week every year to show off their lines for the coming seasons.

While attending Miami Fashion Week, be sure to check out the Culinary Style Café, which will be hosting a different celebrity chef cooking up his/her signature dishes every day. The week of events close with the Miami Moda & Music Awards, celebrating everything fashion and music in one incredible evening.

Winter Music Conference in South Beach

Winter Music Conference - South BeachFrom March 15th – 24th, thousands of artists, producers, labels and more will descend on South Beach for the 28th Annual Winter Music Conference. It’s ten days of non-stop panels, workshops, and parties for fans of electronic dance music (EDM).

If you’ve ever had the urge to learn how to make your own EDM, the Winter Music Conference is the place to be. Some of the industry’s biggest and best names will be on-hand, and can help you learn the ins and outs of creating killer beats and catchy hooks. If you’d rather just sit back and watch the pros in action then check out the DJ spin-off, the VJ Challenge, or peruse the exhibits and try out the latest gear.

Of course a huge component of the Winter Music Conference is the club events and after-parties. With so many artists and producers in town, you can bet South Beach nightclubs will be rocking well into the early hours. The Winter Music Conference has over a dozen sanctioned events already lined up, and you can be sure there will be other parties and after-parties to come. From house music to trance to more mellow vibes, you’ll definitely find something that will fit your groove.

For a fashion experience with a decidedly Latino flavour, book your tickets now for the Miami Beach International Fashion Week 2012. From March 21-24 more than 50 of the world’s top fashion designers present their latest collections on the catwalks of the Miami Beach Convention Center in the largest international and Hispanic fashion event in the USA. Experience the best of Latin fashion, beauty, music, cuisine and art in this all-encompassing event.

The week kicks off with a seminar presentation and cocktail reception on Tuesday March 20th. The Opening Night Press Conference will take place on March 21st, followed by a Swimwear Designer Showcase that should give some sizzle to the evening. Florida’s Fashion Stars will then lend some local pizzaz to the Emerging Designers Prelude & Miami Style Showcase. In addition there will be exhibitions of jewelry and accessories from designers such as Bagghy Miami, Paola Peres and Sharon Piligra Rooks.

One of the highlights of the week will be the Prêt-A-Porter Designer Showcase on March 22, which will feature the winner of the prestigious Mission Moda/Bolivia award. Other highlights will include Banja Luka Fashion Fair Designer Showcase featuring designers from Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro.

But of course, everyone will eagerly be anticipating Latin Fashion Weeks Council Designer Showcase, showcasing the top emerging and established designers from throughoutLatin America. Let’s hope that some of last year’s stars, like Venezuelan Giovanni Scutaro, Colombian Eduardo Gonzalez, and Brazilian Marcelo Quadros (who brought a whole new meaning to Little Black Dress), dazzle us again with their sexy and inspired designs.

Festivities will close on the evening of March 24 with the Miami Moda & Music Awards & Special Guest Designer, including live performances from international performers.

Known as the premier show of its kind in the world, this year’s edition will span three locations and feature more than 3,000 boats and 2,000 exhibitors from around the globe. At a time when most of the continent jacks up the thermostat and fluffs up the Snuggies to keep warm, the South Beach Winter Party Festival welcomes thousands of LGBT visitors to the sun-drenched shores of South Beach. For one glorious week, area hotels, restaurants and bars will host over 10,000 participants from the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Australia.

The Winter Party Festival is an all-encompassing celebration of social and cultural events, including art, dance, music, food and wine, highlighted by dance parties and receptions that raise funds for a variety of gay causes.

Beach dance parties, pool bashes at premier resorts, all-night dancing at swanky nightclubs, and recovery brunches at the best sidewalk cafés: everything you’d expect at a Winter Party. But in addition organizers have thoughtfully planned a far-reaching variety of events, including art gallery nights, shopping parties on Lincoln Road Mall, Art Deco walking tours along scenic Ocean Drive, a marathon film festival at Miami Beach Cinematheque, and the South Beach Comedy Festival at the Fillmore Miami Beach.
