With his new record, Tempest, released to rave reviews, Dylan is on fine musical form – a feat made all the more amazing by the fact that he is 71 years old. His current live show, featuring a killer five-piece band, has been getting great press, with many critics wondering how Dylan can inject such energy into decades-old classics after all this time.
In recent years, Dylan has taken to smashing away on a baby grand piano, infusing a completely new element to classics like All Along the Watchtower, Like a Rolling Stone, Visions of Johanna and more. He’s also managed to seamlessly blend in tracks from Tempest into his sets, making for an engaging, once-in-a-lifetime performance.
Dylan and his band will hit Chicago’s United Center on November 9th for what is sure to be a blistering set of tunes old and new. Be sure to get there early, as opener Mark Knopfler promises to be a treat. The former Dire Straits front-man and guitar virtuoso has an arsenal of songs that are sure to please.
