Global Festival takes place September 29th on Central Park’s Great Lawn. Dubbed as a “free ticketed music festival to help end extreme poverty,” the concert features some of rock and popular music’s biggest names: Neil Young & Crazy Horse, the Foo Fighters, the Black Keys, Band of Horses and K’Naan. With New York City as a backdrop, it’s sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime event.
The concert supports a number of important initiatives, including World Vision, Rotary International, the Rainforest Foundation and others. It’s as much about fundraising as it is raising awareness about extreme poverty around the globe, and there is no better time to do so then during the United Nations General Assembly when the world’s leaders gather in NY.
This free festival will host 60,000 people, however, tickets are required. Visitors to www.globalcitizen.org are instructed how to take action and from there you will be entered into a draw to receive two tickets. For those who’d rather not wait to see if they’re chosen, limited VIP packages are also available via www.globalfestival.com
