Cleanse your palate and bring your appetite to Chicago’s Millennium Park this fall. The best in food and wine come together at Millennium Park September 28th – 30th as Bon Appétit presents Chicago Gourmet: A Celebration of Food and Wine. Dozens of the city’s best restaurants will show off their culinary prowess at the weekend event’s cooking demonstrations.
What kinds of events are on tap for Chicago Gourmet? Well, there’s the Hamburger Hop, a taste-off pitting Chicago chefs against those from across the country in a battle of beef and bun. Live cooking demos will have you taking notes and licking your chops as you watch some of the city’s finest chefs at work. Each day also features a Grand Cru tasting from 2-4 p.m. that will feature some of the world’s best wines poured and presented by the country’s leading master sommeliers.
Among the chefs in attendance is Rick Bayless, winner of the Food Network’s Top Chef Masters and unquestionably Chicago’s most famous cook. In addition to the intensive food experience you’ll have at Millennium Park, Chicago Gourmet has extended the festival through to many of the city’s restaurants. Prix-fixe menus will be available at several restaurants around town. Inspired by the festival, the food brings creativity and attention to detail from concept to reality.
